Danilo Gallinari

The giant who conquered America graduating as champion at the Univeristy of basketball, the mythical NBA. Danilo “Gallo” Gallinari, wing of the Sant’Angelo Lodigiano, born in 1988, is one of the most brilliant stars in the sky of Italian basketball, thanks to the 8 seasons competed in the American professional championship. Following his father’s footsteps (his father, Vittorio, conquered 4 championships and numerous international trophies with the jersey of the Olimpia Milano), after the debuts at Casalpusterlengo, a quick passage in Pavia was his springboard to conquering a spot in the most glorious Italian society: Olimpia Milano.

Two seasons in Milan, during which he conquered an MVP title of the series A1 and the Euroleague Rising Star Trophy reserved for the best player under 22 of the Eurolega, were enough to fly off towards the NBA. The team to choose him was the legendary New York Knicks, where he remained until the season 2010/2011 to then transfer to the Denver Nuggets, where he became one of the star players.

A constant crescendo of performances and a role as absolute protagonist even on courts overseas, which, during the 2015/2016 season, brought him to score about 20 points per match. Ettore Messina has his eyes on him to build a new winning cycle with the Italian National team, with which “Gallo” has already played two European Championships. A story made up of goals already met and even bigger objectives to conquer: tell the story with him on eFanswer.
